Manual Handling & Backcare


This course is suitable for a wide range of staff from those with obvious work related handling tasks through to sales and office staff who may appear to have much less manual handling involved in their work related activities. Course attendees will learn about how injuries happen and how to avoid this using sensible techniques.
All of our trainers have successfully completed the City & Guilds Manual Handling Train the Trainer course and are experienced tutors.
Course dates are arranged by agreement with all clients to suit your requirements.


> Course Syllabus


Manual handling is required by people to move a wide range of equipment and under health and safety legislation, there is a duty to identify where thre may be a risk of injury, and then to take common sense measures to reduce those risks. The training of handlers to work safely can be undertaken in a courses, typically lasting 2 to 3 hours for groups of up to 12 people.
For most working environments, moving a range of objects by people will be required. The course will provide guidance and instruction on how to avoid risk, move small and large objects safely involving physical handling by people and the use of machinery. The course will be delivered by qualified and experienced trainers to help people avoid injury in the workplace. Additional direction will be given on what causes injury and how to prevent this happening.
